Land Acknowledgement

It is with gratitude and humility that we acknowledge that we are learning, speaking and gathering on the ancestral homelands of the Mohican people, who are the indigenous peoples of this land on which the Norman Rockwell Museum was built. Despite tremendous hardship in being forced from here, today their community resides in Wisconsin and is known as the Stockbridge-Munsee Community. We pay honor and respect to their ancestors past and present as we commit to building a more inclusive and equitable space for all.

Rockwell’s Studio
Closed for the season.
Opens Spring 2025

Rockwell called his Stockbridge studio, his “best studio yet.” The building was originally located in the backyard of his home on South Street in Stockbridge, Mass. In 1976, toward the end of his life, Rockwell left the studio and its contents to Norman Rockwell Museum. The building was cut in two and moved to the Museum’s grounds in 1986.

Rockwell’s Studio is open seasonally, and has limited capacity. To ensure your visit to the Studio, reserve your 20-minute Rockwell’s Studio Tour and Museum Visit ticket online in advance.

Museum Grounds
On the Museum’s scenic 36-acre site, enjoy a walk with stunning Berkshire vistas, including gardens, specimen trees and plants (identified with labels), and sculptures created by Norman Rockwell’s son Peter; meander through our field paths to the Housatonic River, or pick an apple from trees planted for each Rockwell grandchild. Bring your own picnic or select New England favorites from our Terrace Café, which is open seasonally. Visitors may sketch or paint on the grounds, using their own materials – or purchase kits in the Museum Store.

The Museum Store is open daily during Museum hours.
