We the Peoples: Norman Rockwell's United Nations

An evening to remember in the company of great humanitarian leadership.

"...this unique exhibition bridges the local and the global — spotlighting a renowned artist who showed the ideals of home, while also beckoning us to the dreams and aspirations of the world at large....In unique and at times unsung ways, Norman Rockwell continually sought to show how we are part of something larger."

On Monday, we participated in a series of historic collaborative events at the United Nations commemorating the opening of the exhibition, We The Peoples: Norman Rockwell's United Nations. A tribute from the Norman Rockwell Museum, the United Nations Foundation and the United Nations, Celebrating and honoring the United Nations 70th Anniversary, the Museum organized the exhibition with support from the United Nations Foundation.

I was so honored and proud to stand beside UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as he expressed so eloquently the global significance of Rockwell's work, which brought our three organizations together in developing this unprecedented exhibition.

A special thanks to our Board and National Council members who were able to attend; many of you were captured on film which you can view on the UNWeb TV, or YouTube. I invite you to share your experience via email, and Facebook and Twitter. If you couldn't be there in person, please take a moment to view the press coverage in the links below. I hope you will all proudly share this important milestone for Norman Rockwell Museum, as you played a role in this global achievement.
