Artist Talk & Booksigning – Wendell Minor: Getting to Know Norman Rockwell

Jump into the process of creating a children’s picturebook with Wendell Minor, whose beautifully illustrated story, Hi, I’m Norman, employs a first-person narrative to engage young readers with Rockwell’s life and career. The artist’s striking visual narratives have appeared on nearly 2000 book covers and in over 50 children’s books. Original artworks will be on view. Finding Home: Four Artists’ Journeys – Exhibition Preview Party for Members and Donors

The immigration experience will be explored in three compelling portrayals inspired by personal experience, bringing to life the realities of traveling to, and adapting to a new world thousands of miles away from home. Please plan to arrive prior to 1:30 p.m. today if you wish to view the Saturday Evening Post cover exhibition. Access to The Stockbridge Room, housing the exhibition, will end at 2:30 p.m. in order for the Norman Rockwell Museum’s Board of Trustees to convene their quarterly meeting. Your flexibility in scheduling and understanding is appreciated. For your convenience, the short video of Norman Rockwell can be viewed here.
