On Saturday, March 1, from 5:00-7:00 pm, join us for a Members’ Reception for our new exhibition, All for Laughs: The Artists of the Famous Cartoonist Course. Enjoy light refreshments and conversation in the galleries with cartoonists/illustrators Elwood Smith and Marc Rosenthal, and Famous Artists School owner Magdalen Livesey.

The exhibition features original drawings by Famous Cartoon Course founders Al Capp, Rube Goldberg, Milton Caniff, Willard Mullin, and other masters of mid-twentieth century comic art.

Can You Draw This?, a 4:00pm pre-opening program with award-winning illustrator Ryan Hartley Smith and Chief Curator Stephanie Haboush Plunkett, will take a lively look at the education of America’s cartoon artists.

Land Acknowledgement

It is with gratitude and humility that we acknowledge that we are learning, speaking and gathering on the ancestral homelands of the Mohican people, who are the indigenous peoples of this land on which the Norman Rockwell Museum was built. Despite tremendous hardship in being forced from here, today their community resides in Wisconsin and is known as the Stockbridge-Munsee Community. We pay honor and respect to their ancestors past and present as we commit to building a more inclusive and equitable space for all.
