Home Run! An All American Baseball Day

1 – 5 p.m.

A national pastime, baseball has also been a favorite subject of America’s most popular illustrator Norman Rockwell. Celebrate summer with a tribute to the sport and the people who captured the excitement of the game. Hands-on art making, tours, special presentations, a game of catch on the lawn, and more will make this a fun-filled day. Draw along with Mike Moran who will offer insights into baseball-inspired work; Karen Buzzelle Administrative Manager of the Regan Youth League and Boston Slammers, 2017 Baseball For All 11U National Champions, all girls baseball team will be on hand along with the Upstate NY Boomers, who are based out of Syracuse to talk with visitors about the trend in baseball of girls playing baseball and all girls teams. K & P Weaver vintage baseball equipment manufacturer will be available for you to learn about the history of baseball uniforms and other equipment used to play baseball.

The Tri City Valley Cats, a Class A short season affiliate of the 2017 World Champion Huston Astros will have representatives on hand and show some items from their own 2018 New York-Penn League Championship season; Curator of Education Tom Daly will present Rockwell and Baseball an illustrated talk ; and representatives from the Pittsfield Suns will be on site to meet visitors.
