NRM presents a rare series of Edison Mazda Lamps advertising illustrations by Rockwell, Parrish, Wyeth, and other Golden Age artists
Stockbridge, Mass.––October 17, 2024––Norman Rockwell Museum is honored to present Illustrators of Light: Rockwell, Wyeth, and Parrish from the Edison Mazda Collection, an exhibition featuring a rare series of paintings created to illustrate early twentieth-century lighting advertisements. This special exhibition highlights the artworks of Rockwell and fellow Golden Age illustrators Maxfield Parrish, N.C. Wyeth, Dean Cornwell, Stanley Arthurs, Worth Brehm, and Charles Chambers. On view from November 23, 2024, through January 4, 2026, Illustrators of Light: The Edison Mazda Collection celebrates the innovative spirit of Edison Mazda Lamps (a division of General Electric) through luminous artworks exalting the warmth and impact of incandescent light. Sixteen original works, including eight by Rockwell, are on loan for the first time through the generosity of GE Aerospace and were previously displayed privately at Nela Park, the headquarters for General Electrics Lighting division in Cleveland, Ohio.

Exhibition of groundbreaking portrait series opens November 9, 2024
Stockbridge, MA—August 28, 2024—Norman Rockwell Museum is excited to announce Anita Kunz: Original Sisters, Portraits of Tenacity and Courage, a forthcoming exhibition of artworks by internationally acclaimed Canadian illustrator Anita Kunz. On view from November 9, 2024, through May 26, 2025, Anita Kunz: Original Sisters presents selections from the artist’s groundbreaking series of portraits of diverse and extraordinary women from ancient times to today, many unknown or underrecognized. This exhibition uncovers, amplifies, and celebrates the achievements of changemaking women worldwide, while also weaving together a “lost history” of women’s distinctive contributions within every possible field of endeavor.
Norman Rockwell Museum launches the Unity Project 2024 to inspire voting through illustration art
Stockbridge, MA—August 22, 2024—Norman Rockwell Museum is proud to announce the launch of the Unity Project 2024, a get-out-the-vote campaign that harnesses the power of illustration art to inspire and motivate voting in the upcoming presidential election. Published primarily through social media, the campaign features striking images and voting messages from six top contemporary illustrators who reach a wide range of audiences: Monica Ahanonu, Lisk Feng, Timothy Goodman, Edel Rodriguez, Gary Taxali, and Shar Tui'asoa/Punky Aloha.
Norman Rockwell Museum’s Summer Exhibition Goes MAD!
Stockbridge, MA—June 1, 2024—Norman Rockwell Museum’s major summer exhibition, What, Me Worry? The Art and Humor of MAD Magazine, will open on Saturday, June 8, and runs through October 27, 2024. More than 250 original illustrations and cartoons from dozens of creators spanning 70 years of MAD Magazine will be on display. The exhibition also includes MAD memorabilia, a digital display of every MAD cover, and other special features.
Norman Rockwell: Illustrating Humor to Open at Norman Rockwell Museum
Stockbridge, MA—May 14, 2024—Boys sneaking past a “No Swimming” sign to take a dip. An old fisherman who’s caught a mermaid in his trap. These and other richly humorous illustrations by Norman Rockwell will be spotlighted this summer in Norman Rockwell: Illustrating Humor, a special exhibition opening Saturday, June 22, at Norman Rockwell Museum. The exhibition remains on view through Feb. 9, 2025.
View Works of “Mystery and Wonder” at New Illustration Exhibition
Stockbridge, Mass.—January 17, 2024—Norman Rockwell Museum presents captivating artwork with enigmatic and magical appeal in its new exhibition, Mystery and Wonder: Highlights from the Illustration Collection. Opening March 2 and running through June 16, this exhibition features selected images from Norman Rockwell Museum’s Permanent Collection, which now holds almost 25,000 artworks created by more than 300 illustrators.

STOCKBRIDGE, MA, September 7, 2023—Norman Rockwell Museum presents the first major American retrospective of artist Leo Lionni, a groundbreaking modernist graphic designer and magazine art director who gained worldwide popularity as the writer and illustrator of nearly 40 children’s books in as many years. Opening November 18 and running through May 27, 2024, Between Worlds: The Art and Design of Leo Lionni explores the artist’s vision and legacy across three distinct yet interrelated domains: graphic art and design; children’s books; and personal works in various media.

STOCKBRIDGE, MA-- Norman Rockwell Museum presents Nora Krug: Belonging featuring art by the noted contemporary illustrator, who has assembled a list of prestigious accolades for her comics and graphic novels. On view from March 19 through June 19, 2023, this new exhibition will present more than 200 original drawings and paintings by Nora Krug, as well as the historical artifacts, letters, photographs, and personal items that inspired the artist’s work.
