Norman Rockwell’s Home for the Holidays
November 4, 2015 through January 8, 2016
During the holiday season, Norman Rockwell’s anxiously awaited illustrations brought good cheer to millions of Americans who encountered his images on the covers and pages of their favorite magazines, and on holiday cards that brought the spirit of the holidays home. His memorable, enduring images, which reflected the best in us, are on view in this special holiday installation of original artworks and objects. Original drawings and paintings, as well as costumes and props featured in his artwork, will be on view.

Harvey Dunn and His Students
November 8, 2015 through March 8, 2016
An exceptional and prolific illustrator of America’s Golden Age, Harvey Dunn (1884-1952) was a prodigy of legendary artist Howard Pyle who became an admired teacher in his own right. Born in a claim shanty in Manchester, South Dakota, he took classes at the Chicago Art Institute before studying with Pyle and opening his own studio in Wilmington, Delaware. This first major exhibition of Dunn’s art, organized in conjunction with the South Dakota Museum of Art, South Dakota State University, will feature his stunning painterly illustrations for the prominent periodicals of his day, including Scribner’s, Harper’s, Collier’s Weekly, Century, Outing, and The Saturday Evening Post.

Love a Vet: Honoring Our Veterans
November 7, 2015 through January 5, 2016
This special exhibition honors the sacrifices of veterans, calling attention to the struggles that many face upon their re-entry into civilian life. “Who stands ready to take care of those men and women upon their return when they are all too often disabled, disillusioned, or disheartened?” pondered exhibition organizer Ella Rue, mother of a veteran, and Director of Marketing for Academic Programs and Events at New Jersey City University.
