Stockbridge, MA—March 20, 2024—Norman Rockwell Museum has added two highly experienced museum professionals to its curatorial team. These new curatorial leaders will help further grow and innovate the Museum’s exhibitions and collections mission, as well as returning the Museum’s curatorial staff to pre-pandemic levels and managing the relaunch of its successful traveling exhibitions program.

Seth Fogelman, formerly the Senior Exhibitions Manager and Registrar at the Whitney Museum of American Art, joins Norman Rockwell Museum as Chief of Curatorial Affairs. In this newly created position, Fogelman will advance the administration of exhibitions, collections, traveling exhibitions, collections management space planning, and digital collections management for the future needs of the Museum.

Jane Dini, PhD, most recently the Andrew W. Mellon Senior Curator, American Art, at the Brooklyn Museum, assumes the role of Curator of Exhibitions. Dini will focus on curating exhibitions for Norman Rockwell Museum, as well as contributing to the development of collections and scholarship in close collaboration with the curatorial team.

Norman Rockwell Museum Chief Curator Stephanie Haboush Plunkett continues in her accomplished curatorial role. She will concentrate on curating exhibitions, developing the collections, writing, speaking, and conducting research and scholarship in her expanded role as Rockwell Center for American Visual Studies director and illustration scholar.

Bios of New Curatorial Leaders

Seth Fogelman held positions at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City for 16 years, most recently serving as Senior Exhibitions Manager and Registrar. Fogelman also brings earlier career experience as the Associate Registrar for Collections Exhibitions at the Guggenheim Museum (NYC and global affiliates); in Collection Management and Exhibition Registration at the Museum of Modern Art (NYC); and in traveling exhibitions management at The Jewish Museum (NYC). He was a key member of the team who moved the Whitney from their former facility to their new museum.

Jane Dini, PhD, was most recently the Andrew W. Mellon Senior Curator, American Art, at the Brooklyn Museum. Previously, she held positions as Associate Curator of American Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Assistant Curator of American Art at the Detroit Institute of Arts where she curated award-winning exhibitions and reinstallations advocating for the museum’s important role in public access and education. Dini received her MA and PhD in art history from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and held the NEA Curatorial Fellowship at the Harvard University Art Museums, a predoctoral fellowship at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Woodrow Wilson Postdoctoral Fellowship at California State University, Los Angeles. Dini’s understanding of institutional exclusions is at the core of her peer-reviewed publications on public murals, popular culture, and the performing arts in such publications such as Sargent and Italy (Princeton, 2008) and the NEA- and NEH-funded exhibition Dance: American Art, 1830–1960 (Yale, 2016) at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
