Stockbridge, MA—Nov. 1, 2023—Norman Rockwell Museum announces the inaugural edition of Studio Sessions: The Norman Rockwell Collection, unveiled today by the Museum’s digital art partner Iconic, a company that expands cultural experiences through digital innovation.
The inaugural “Session” will feature eight process works by Norman Rockwell from the Norman Rockwell Archives that went into the making of the artist’s self-reflective painting Waiting for the Art Editor (1970). These works include one color study, one charcoal study, a set of photographs of staged model sessions, two portraits of Rockwell modeling character expressions, and one contact sheet featuring a series of portraits of Rockwell working on the painting in his studio. It is the first time that any of the works have been published and made available to a new generation of art collectors.
Norman Rockwell Museum previously announced its collaboration with the Norman Rockwell Family and Iconic to launch Studio Sessions: The Norman Rockwell Collection, a collection of limited digital editions (NFTs) and matching prints. This collection focuses on Norman Rockwell’s meticulous artistic process, offering select process works that informed the creation of specific paintings. Studio Sessions constitutes Norman Rockwell Museum and the Rockwell Family’s joint entry into NFTs as part of an effort to bring Norman Rockwell’s art and legacy to new generations of digitally savvy art collectors.
Details about the inaugural “Session,” including specific artworks and sales dates, are available at rockwell.iconicmoments.co. For the most up-to-date information, please follow Iconic on X — https://twitter.com/iconic__culture.
