WHAT: A three day family friendly celebration marking the anniversary of the 1969 Woodstock Concert. Coinciding with the Museum’s 50th Anniversary and its Woodstock to the Moon: 1969 Illustrated exhibition, Norman Rockwell Museum has organized various events throughout the three anniversary days commemorating the concert and the art, music, fashion, and culture of the 60s. Special activities are included with admission, and free for Kids/Teens, and Members, except where noted.
Thursday, August 15, 2019, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Join the fun activities scheduled throughout the day and evening. Come for the day and break for a picnic on the lawn. Bring your own or pick up a ready meal from Runaway Café. Create a giant peace sidewalk mural, go on scavenger hunts, and take advantage of family photo ops throughout the day!
10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Draw In! Sketch a Yellow Submarine* (class fee applies)
Noon – 1:00 p.m. Face painting on the terrace
2:00 and 3:00 p.m Woodstock the Moon exhibition gallery talks
3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Far-out VR (Virtual Reality)
Evening Activities, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Get out your groovy 60s fashion for an evening of fun, photo ops, and prizes. Join the Human Peace Sign, add to the giant peace sidewalk mural, go on scavenger hunts and enjoy free popsicles while they last!
5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Move and Groove with Moving Arts – with inspiration from Yellow Submarine
5:00 – 6:00 p.m Make a flower chain hair band

Friday, August 16, 2019, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Come for the day. Add to the giant community peace mural, go on a scavenger hunt then take a break to enjoy a picnic on the lawn and chill to 60’s music on the terrace. There will be plenty of groovy family photo ops throughout the day!

Saturday, August 17, 2019, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The finale of NRM/Woodstock50 festivities: Celebrate all day by adding to our community peace sidewalk mural, join a Human Peace Sign, go on scavenger hunts, break for a picnic on the lawn, and wear your 60s fashions for groovy photo ops throughout the day. Plus, it’s Massachusetts Tax-Free weekend – TAX-FREE shopping!
