Stockbridge, MA, July 10, 2012—Norman Rockwell Museum presents Art of the Story, a digital animation workshop for teens and adults, to be held at the Museum the week of Monday, July 30 through Friday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cartoonist/animator Scott Lincoln will guide students in the process of making a digital moving image, focusing on such areas as character design, storyboard illustration, and animation created for the computer. Lincoln is the creator of “Ralf the Destroyer,” a long-running cartoon strip, and has taught at the Guy Gilchrist Cartoon Academy. Beautiful Simplicity: The Art of Oil Painting
Friday and Saturday, August 10 and 11, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Learn composition, mood, narrative and other essentials in oil painting with picture book artist Ruth Sanderson. This intensive will focus on the portrayal of the single figure in a simple but elegant setting. Starting with a thumbnail drawing, students will create a finished illustration in oils. $95, $75 Museum members.
