Norman Rockwell Museum’s Four Freedoms Forums series returns this Thursday, April 26, starting at 5:30 p.m., with Our Town: Can the Economy Flourish Despite the National Downturn? Join a distinguished panel of experts for a look at the economic challenges that we face today, and the creative solutions for bringing prosperity back in a new age. Community conversation at the Four Freedoms Forums is free and open to the public.
While you’re here check out the paintings that inspired the series: Norman Rockwell’s Four Freedoms reside in their own specially created gallery space, perfect for reflecting on the ideals set forth by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in his famous 1941 speech. Inspiration continues through the Museum’s other galleries, with original works on view from Norman Rockwell, Everett Raymond Kinstler, and other contemporary and past masters in the field of illustration.
Children and families can also create their own works in our creativity center, open during regular Museum hours. On Wednesday, April 25, starting at 10:30 a.m., we will continue our Kids Create! program, offering an interactive look at the world of art, especially for young art lovers (ages two to five) and their caregivers.
Finally, our Seeing is Believing: Adventures in Visual Narration lecture series continues on Thursday, April 26, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., presenting a look at the deep and ever-present links between imagery and culture. The lecture is being presented in association with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI); please contact OLLI at 413.236.2190 to register.
We look forward to seeing you at Norman Rockwell Museum!
