Drawing Together:
A Parent-Child Experience

For children ages four and up, accompanied by an adult. Children and their parents/guardians explore the galleries together in a guided, interactive look at the works on view, followed by art-making activities that inspire experimentation with a variety of materials and techniques.

Painting Studio for Children

For children ages eight and up. Discover the joy of painting! Join artist/ educator Monika Pizzichemi for this special studio experience designed for children. Learn about media, techniques, color mixing, perspective and more as you explore the art of painting pictures.

Art in Action

Our new Sunday afternoon drop-in art workshops focus on family fun and hands-on adventures! Each month will feature new projects, inspired by the art of Norman Rockwell and our other changing exhibitions. All ages welcome. Free for children. Adults free with Museum admission.

Making Art Together with IS183:
Drop-in Art Making for Families

IS183 Art School and Norman Rockwell Museum are joining forces to offer a special series of weekend fun for families. On the first Saturday of each month, drop-in art classes are being offering at IS183 for children and their adult friends. On the first Sunday of the month families are invited to continue their creative adventures at the Museum with our Art in Action workshop series.

A Seasonal Sing-along for Families

Join us for an evening of uplifting music and entertainment, as the Museum ushers in the holiday season. Enjoy art-making, heart-warming treats, songs of celebration, and the wonder of Norman Rockwell’s art. At 5 p.m., performance artist David Polansky will get the crowd singing as he plays favorite songs from Chanukah and Christmas, and original music inspired by the season. Free for children. Adults free with Museum admission.

Holiday Week Art Making Workshops

Come in from the cold and create your own masterpieces! This festive week of drop-in art workshops will offer families the opportunity to unwind following the busy holiday season. Each day there will be a new project to make. Free for children. Adults free with regular Museum admission.
